Faculty of Mechanical Engineering honors top-performing students with a scholarship

As part of the support program “German University projects abroad”, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) once again this year grants stipends to CDTFstudents who excelled in their German language courses and in their basic study program at the CDTF in Qingdao as well as in the subsequent advanced study program in Paderborn. Jiaying WANG, Jinyang ZHOU, Yiqung LIU and Keke YANG (photo from left to right) were personally given the scholarship certificates by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Detmar Zimmer, vice dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Dr.-Ing. Vera Denzer, coordinator of the Chinese-German University cooperation. Two of this year’s scholarship recipients planned the Paderborn part of their study program individually. As the first ever CDTF student Jinyang Zhou transferred to Paderborn University a year earlier than his fellow students after having completed his second year. As the first students from Qingdao, Keke YANG decided to supplement his mechanical engineering study program with elements of business administration which is part of the study program industrial engineering and management.

The scholarships enable the students to completely focus on their Bachelor study program in mechanical engineering at Paderborn University without having to think about time-consuming side jobs.
