During a city rallye on November 08, 2018, away from their daily student lives, CDTF students discovered important places in Paderborn. The rallye started at the entrance of the P1 building on campus and took them through the "Paderquellgebiet", source region of the Pader, to the Paderborn Cathedral and finally to the historic city hall. Along the way, numerous small tasks needed to be solved, mostly in groups.
Questions like: "Which man, in whose honor a great festival takes place in Paderborn every summer, is buried in the crypt of the Cathedral?" were intended to provide a brief historic input. In additon to historic issues, there were also some technical question about e.g. the waterworks in the "Paderquellgebiet",
Upon finishing the rallye, the students went to the reception for international students by Paderborn's mayor, Michael Dreier (center, 9th from right). At the reception with cold beverages and snacks, the students had the opportunity to talk with the mayor. He spoke in high terms of the good cooperation between Paderborn University and the city, and was pleased about the great interest of the approximately 35 Chinese student from Qingdao in the reception.
